THE EXPERIENCE

The Indiana Northeastern Railroad, in partnership with the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society and the Indiana Rail Experience, is delighted to announce that the Ice Cream Train will be rolling into Edon for Edon Days 2025. Ticket sales begin July 17th at 6:00 PM.

On Friday, August 8, 2025, festival-goers are invited to climb aboard a family-friendly, diesel-powered train filled with complimentary ice cream from Edon Dairy Treat and Kuster’s Dairy Food.

With departures at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM, each 1-hour round-trip is timed to coincide with other Friday night activities during the annual summer festival. These trips will mark the first recurring passenger train excursions in Edon in decades.

Edon’s railroad heritage stretches back to 1892 when the Wabash Railroad linked it to the country’s national railway network, and its depot, which survives today in Walz Park, was described then as one of the “nicest depots in the country.”

THE OFFERINGS

Deluxe Coach, Festival Seats, Lounge, and Family Tables, which can seat four guests each, are available.

Children three years of age and younger who do not occupy a seat ride free in Deluxe Coach only.

Lounge tickets are reserved for guests 18 years of age or older.

Family Table Tickets can accommodate a maximum of four guests per table, and additional single tickets cannot be added. For additional seats, guests must purchase an additional Dining Car Table.

All tickets are individually priced unless specifically referenced or otherwise marked. ADA-specific seats are available in Deluxe Coach only.

Passengers may bring their own personal food and non-alcoholic drinks. Pets are not permitted, but service animals are welcome.

THE FINE PRINT 

Tickets are automatically emailed to passengers upon checkout and are not sent via any other means. Guests are advised to double-check their email address for accuracy before completing their purchase and to check their spam or junk mail folder if they don’t see the confirmation email.

Parking, boarding, and safety information is included with every purchase confirmation. Your review of this information is essential to ensuring an enjoyable experience.

Passengers wishing to travel together should book their tickets as part of the same reservation and under the same name. Refunds or exchanges are only available 30 days or more before travel. In place of refunds, credits for future travel and experiences are offered. Due to their historic nature, only select cars are ADA accessible. Due to the historic and vintage nature of our rolling stock and locomotives, we reserve the right to substitute motive power or equipment if necessary. All trains run rain or shine.
